[And she is grateful, honest. But she's also sore and tired and is gonna get back to napping until food's ready.]

it's going to take another 20, can you wait or are you going to pitch yourself out of your body again like a brat

He puts his communicator away until he's done cooking. First, he drops something off to Honerva because he just spent way too long yelling at her to not give her something, and then he knocks on his and Lup's shared bedroom door, pushing it open with his foot. In one hand he balances a tray with a metal cover over it, while the other sits on his hip.]
Are you dead again or can you eat?
no subject
but okay. After a few seconds she makes a miserable noise and rolls over, forcing herself to sit up and rub at an eye.]
Fuuuuuck. Yeah, I can eat. That's what you asked, right? [she didn't just hallucinate that?] Balls, I need energy.
no subject
[He hooks the door closed with his free hand as he walks over and sets the tray down on the small side table shoved between their beds.]
But close enough I guess.
[With a roll of his eyes, he lifts the cover off the tray to reveal a hearty bowl of chicken soup, vegetables and chicken chunks floating in fragrant broth, along with a hunk of brown bread on a napkin next to it. Taako plucks the spoon off the tray and hands it over to Lup, taking the opportunity to give her a visual once over. He's no cleric, but he's taken care of her when she was sick enough times to know that this is bad, but not life threatening in the least.]
Eat. You're gonna need that energy for the dressing down I'm gonna give you later.
no subject
Can't you gripe at me while I'm asleep? It'll have about the same effect either way.
[She leans down to take a deep, long whiff of the soup, closing her eyes, a bit of the tension in her shoulders melting away. Awww, yeah. Baller chicken soup, as usual.]
no subject
[He releases the tray and the spoon, flopping onto his bed. He leans back on his elbows, one leg crossed over the other in a careful lounging position cultivated to seem nonchalant even though he's able to spring up at a moment's notice if needed. She's thinking about things and it's obvious, but whatever is going on in her head hasn't had time to fully form yet. He's gotta let it stew a little longer and when she's ready to bring it to him, she will.
Or he'll broach the subject himself because he's probably on the same track as her.]
I don't think so. It's so much more satisfying to scold you when you're awake to snipe back.
no subject
So... this was kinda two-fold. I did want soup, but I wanted to let you know that I'm gonna go meet with a kinda-cleric birdman to see if he can fix this.
no subject
The birdman? The uh... [He pops his lips, trying to come up with the name.] Prince Reyson guy? Didn't realize he was a cleric.
no subject
Kinda-cleric, not the real deal. He offered to do, like. Soul-healing. I have no idea what that means, but if it might help then it's worth a shot.
no subject
Taako frowns, sitting up. He doesn't like Lup taking these risks with her (un)life. They don't get a magical do-over at the end of every year anymore and he isn't sure how she'd get her body back if she went full lich at some point here.]
I guess, yeah... But if you're gonna do that? I'm going with you.
no subject
[She ducks her head, taking a few more spoonfuls of the soup and chewing cautiously. She won't say it - doesn't have to - but Taako's presence will certainly make her feel safer about trying some unknown magic ritual, especially when she doesn't know what kind of effect alien clerical healing might have on an undead soul. Radiant damage is kind of a big deal for a lich.]
no subject
[And now she's suffering for it and Taako can't do anything but make soup and try to take care of her the best he can. He can't magically heal her sickness. He can't even understand half of what could even make her sick in the first place. She's supposed to be stronger than him and here she is, looking miserable and aching.
He frowns and then runs a hand through his hair, realizing that it's coming loose from its braid.]
But yeah, I'll be there. And since bird boy is apparently fragile like glass, I'll be sure he knows what'll happen if he fucks you up.
no subject
[That was shitty the first time and she doesn't like the idea of a repeat. She huffs a breath, annoyed but also somewhat defeated - because he is right in this instance - and angrily shoves her soup.]
I thought leaving my body behind would be caution enough, but no dice. Was probably the Polymorph that did it.
no subject
[He throws his hands up in frustration and then flops back against the bed, staring up at the ceiling. He's glad she didn't leave a note. He isn't sure how he would have reacted to seeing one again, not when the memories are still somewhat fresh and the panic of her not being around is still so visceral. But just...leaving? That was worse. He'd come back to both of them sick, but what if he'd just come back to her body lying there and her soul nowhere to be found? How much worse would that have been? His eyes feel hot and he can feel a painful tightness grip his chest as he considers that possibility.]
You could have told me.
[That's all he wanted. Even if it was something she had to do by herself, he wanted to know. He wanted to be able to prepare himself for the worst, to mash the numbers and calculate the odds of them surviving even if they were slim to none. He just didn't want to come back to an empty house again. Not again.
He closes his eyes and sighs.]
And it was probably the toxic as fuck atmosphere out there that seeped into you both. Lungs or no, that shit's magic as hell, I bet. No storm looks the way it does.
no subject
C'mere.
[She doesn't wait for a response from Taako. Her fingers weave through his, holding fast, and tugs on him trying to urge him closer.]
no subject
If you snot in my hair after all this, I will absconce to my spa and you won't see me for a week.
no subject
[All pointless banter on both sides, she knows, and it shows in how she tangles herself around him, tucking her chin against his neck, one hand lifting to stroke through his hair. It isn't long before she speaks again, her voice quieting.]
...I'm sorry. I wasn't thinking.
